THE GOVERNMENT HAS ALLOCATED MORE THAN RUB 1.3 BILLION FOR CREATING CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Within three years twelve pilot regions will receive subsidies for the purchase and installation of fast charging stations for electric vehicles on federal highways. As part of the subsidies, it is planned to supply more than 500 EZS to the highways of the Leningrad and Nizhny Novgorod regions, Sakhalin, Tatarstan and other regions, as well as on the territory of the M-4 Don federal highway.

By 2030 Russia needs to deploy a network of 29,000 fast charging stations that can fully charge an electric car within 20 minutes. According to preliminary estimates, the capital cost of a slow charging station will be 0.3-0.6 million rubles, and a fast-charging station - 2.5-4.8 million rubles. However, slow stations can charge an electric car within an hour, which will provide a range of 6 to 90 km.

In 2021, the CSR North-West Foundation prepared a report "Prospects for Development of Electric Vehicle and Charging Infrastructure Market in Russia" jointly with

St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University, KAMAZ, Skolkovo Institute of Science and the St. Petersburg Foundation for Innovation and Youth Initiatives Support.

The report materials served as the basis for the market development forecast and were reflected in the text of the Concept for the development of production and use of electric motor transport in the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030.
