Center visits Kaluga Oblast as part of the development of the Region's Strategy
Last week, February 28 - March 4, employees of the Center for Strategic Research “North-West”, Sanatov Dmitry, Tibina Elena and Purgin Alexander, as well as an expert from Lengiprogor LLC, Malinina Svetlana paid a working visit to the region.
As part of the visit, there was a meeting held with Governor of Kaluga Oblast Shapsha Vladislav Valerievich to discuss short-term objectives and long-term development issues in the region. Moreover, the results of an audit of the current level and challenges of socio-economic development in the Kaluga Oblast were presented.
Also, as part of the visit, a series of meetings were held with the heads of municipalities (Obninsk, Borovsky and Maloyaroslavetsky districts, Lyudinovsky, Kirovsky, Zhizdrinsky, Spas-Demensky and Ulyanovsk districts). During the meetings they discussed current problems, priorities for the development of certain districts, as well as possible proposals for the developed Strategy of the region.
To assess the current situation at Kaluga Oblast enterprises, 4 seminars on territorial development issues were held (in Kaluga, Obninsk, Borovskiy and Lyudinovskiy districts). During the seminars were discussed the problems of infrastructure and staffing of enterprises in urban districts and municipal districts, the issues of ensuring sustainable and stable company operations, adaptation to the changed economic situation and possible long-term projects of regional importance.
In addition, within the framework of the trip, the Foundation’s delegation visited the industrial parks of the Kaluga Oblast (Rosva, Kaluga-South, Grabtsevo, Vorsino), the Kaluga SEZ, production sites of industrial companies (NLMK - Kaluga, Tekleor), as well as research centers and universities (NIFKhI, MRRC, TKSU, KF MSTU).
The Strategy being developed is an opportunity to open negotiating positions with the federal centre, other regions, major companies in the country and the Kaluga Oblast. In this regard, it is crucial that the process of developing the document involves various participants and takes into account the diversity of opinions and proposals.
In order to receive proposals, the Center for Strategic Research “North-West” launched the information portal kaluga-strategy-2040.ru, created to highlight the process of developing the Strategy of the Kaluga Oblast until 2040, as well as collect ideas and opinions from different groups of stakeholders, including citizens, business, public associations - about how to improve life in the region. Proposals for the Strategy for Social and Economic Development of the Kaluga Oblast until 2040 can be left in a special form on the project website: https://kaluga-strategy-2040.ru/
